Gossip: How does it affect you

People, the words and actions, can have negative or positive influence over us. There are cases where people quarrel, fight and even commit murder because they are influenced by gossip, influenced by the words of others.

Negativity in the mind is like poison. Negative thoughts are the seeds of negative actions. It might seem like a simple everyday occurrence when friends tell you in the strictest confidence that such and such a person is like this and does so-and-so. We  listen and accept without question because of the friendship. Your attitude and actions now become influenced by the friends words, and you find yourself acting and reacting in accordance with the information fed to you.

Gossip and guessing bring sorrow, heaviness and distrust. Poison can come in many disguises, but poison is poison whether from an enemy or a friend.

    Health Benefits of Almonds

clip_image002Almond is the favourite nut of most persons; a lot of chocolate and skincare product in the market has almonds on it. What is almond nut? The almond nut that we enjoy eating is technically the seed of the fruit of the almond tree. The almond tree bears fruits with stone-like seeds (or pits) within. Almond tree is a medium size tree (growing to between 4 to 10 meters in height, with trunk of up to 30 centimetres in diameter), that bears fragrant pink and white flowers. Almonds are off-white in colour, covered by a thin brownish skin, and encased in a hard shell. Almonds are available throughout the year and they are the freshest in mid-summer, which is when they are at the height of their season. Almonds are available in the market either still in their shell or with their shell removed. Shelled almonds are available whole, sliced or slivered in either their natural form, with their skin, or blanched, with their skin removed.

    Types of Almonds:

    · Sweet almond - are the type that is eaten, sweet almonds are oval in shape, usually malleable in texture and has a buttery taste.

    · Bitter almond - are used to make almond oil that is used as a flavouring agent for foods and liqueurs. They are otherwise inedible as they naturally contain toxic substances such as hydrocyanic acid. These compounds are removed in the manufacturing of almond oil.

Health Benefits of Almonds: Whole Almonds (with skins) has the most health benefits, the flavonoids found in almond skin together with the vitamin E content in its meat more than double the antioxidant content of almonds. Sweet almonds itself contains practically no carbohydrates and may therefore be made into bread and cakes for low carbohydrates diets or for patients suffering from diabetes.

    · Almond oil can help smoothes wrinkles and improved complexion because it is rich in unsaturated fats and essential fatty acids.

    · Almond oil helps improved movement of food through the colon and therefore prevents colon cancer and other diseases in the intestines that results from constipation.

    · Studies showed that including 73g of almonds in the daily diet helps reduced cholesterol level in the blood.

    · Almond is considered food for the brain and nervous system. It is said to induce high intellectual level and longevity.

    · Almond contains substances that have anti-inflammatory and immunity boosting effects

    · Almonds are rich in monounsaturated fats (good fat). Studies showed that substituting nuts for an equivalent amount of carbohydrates in an average diet resulted in a 30% reduction in heart disease risk.

    · Almonds can help keep the blood sugar under control.

    · Help prevent Gallstones

    Nutrient Contents of Almonds:

    · Vitamin E - almonds contains 24mg of vitamin E per 100g

    · Healthy fats - although one-quarter cup of almonds contains about 18 grams of fat, most of it (11 grams) is heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. Monounsaturated fat is responsible for lowering LDL cholesterol.

    · Magnesium -1/4 cups of almonds contains almost 99 mg of magnesium. When there is enough magnesium around, veins and arteries breathe a sigh of relief and relax, which lessens resistance and improves the flow of blood, oxygen and nutrients throughout the body.

    · Potassium - is important in nerve transmission and the contraction of all muscles including the heart. It is also essential for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function.

    · Flavonoids - twenty potent antioxidant flavonoids were identified in almond skins, some of which are catechins found in green tea, and naringenin, which is found in grapefruit.

    · Almonds are concentrated in protein. A quarter-cup contains 7.62 grams-more protein than is provided by the typical egg, which contains 5.54 grams.

    · Almonds are also a very good source of manganese and copper.

How to Select a good quality almonds: When buying almonds look for shells that are not split, mouldy or stained. Almonds should smell sweet and nutty; if their odour is sharp or bitter, they are rancid.

Storage/ Shelf life: Store shelled almonds in a tightly sealed container, in a cool dry place away from exposure to sunlight. Keeping them cold will further protect them from rancidity and prolong their freshness. Refrigerated almonds will keep for several months, while if stored in the freezer, almonds can be kept for up to a year. Since almonds have a high fat content, it is important to store them properly to protect them from becoming rancid. Shelled almond pieces will become rancid more quickly than whole shelled almonds. Almonds still in the shell have the longest shelf life.

If you understand this article, tomorrow will never be the same

Are you financially stressed, living in fear, uncertain of the future? You don’t have to be; you can change all. All you need is to understand the following process. There are 8 simple Steps to Solving All Financial, Relationship, Security or Health Problems.

Supporting the creation of every financial, health, security or relationship problem or phenomenal success is a set of timeless universal laws that never fail or err. Not even once. Every moment unfolds under perfect laws. Knowing what these laws are and how to apply them will miraculously wipe out any problem and produce success, always.

"Over the last 4,000 years or so, we have repeatedly received the exact same how-the-world-works guidance from industry barons, spiritual masters, philosophers, quantum physicists, great leaders and sages.

It is so easy and it is purely about understanding and it works like this.

"1. Understand your world. Many Nobel Prize winning physicists have recently proven beyond doubt that the physical world is one large sea of energy that flashes into and out of being in a fraction of a second, over and over again. Nothing is solid. This is the world of Quantum Physics. They have proven that thoughts are what put together and hold together this ever-changing energy field into the 'objects' that we see.

"2. Know the tools of creation. Your thoughts, words and actions create your experiences. You become what you think about. Albert Einstein once said that imagination is the most powerful creative force. The Bible says 'As a man thinketh, so is he.' Become very aware of your thoughts, and be deliberate in your thinking. There are no idle thoughts. Have vision, and stick with it.

"3. Believe. Henry Ford said, 'whether you think you can or can't -- either way you are right.' This is pretty much the same thing that Jesus and many others have said.

"4 Understand cause and effect. The law of cause and effect is the prime law that runs the universe. It is the number one law. Every spiritual and scientific teacher has sought to teach it. They may have said you reap what you sow, or you get what you give, or what goes around comes around, or karma, or consequences, or every action has an equal and opposite reaction, or many other similar statements. Quantum physics is now teaching us how this works, exactly, on a sub-atomic level. Things get better when you get better. They get worse when you get worse. The world is all within you. You are at cause over everything that happens in your life, whether you were conscious of it or not.

"5. Eliminate confusion. Align your thoughts, words and actions with your goals. Become aware. And realize that the physical world is an effect, not a cause. It is a result of our thoughts, words and actions. You cannot achieve anything by trying to manipulate the effect. Instead look to change the cause.

"6. Understand infinite loops. You see what you believe and you believe what you see. But the start of this loop is that what you believe is what causes the conditions that you see.

"7. Know that there is no order of difficulty, as all limits are placed upon yourself by what you believe to be so.

"8. Find your purpose. Find out what makes you happiest, and work within your purpose. When you do so, your confidence, inspiration, creativity, energy and passion will be unstoppable.

If you understand the above, you can change your tomorrow and your future in the direction you want it to flow.

    Rising above poverty and debt.

‘”Debt is a form of poverty and one of the cruellest. It gives you the illusion of having more money than you do” - Jerrold Mundis.

How much do you owe to a mortgage, on rent, credit cards and loans from other people? If you depend on debt to get what you want, you dig yourself into a deep financial hole.

If you are continually in financial distress, it may be time to adopt a very simple operating principle: spend less than you earn.

“if your outgoing exceeds your income, then your upkeep will be your downfall” - Bill Earle.

    Every Day

Everyday is a blessing, and in each moment there are many things that we can be grateful for. The world opens up to us when we live in a space of gratitude. In essence, gratitude has a snowball effect. When we are appreciative and express that gratitude, the universe glows a bit brighter and showers us with even more blessings.
There is always something to be grateful for, even when life seems hard. When times are tough, whether we are having a bad day or stuck in what may feel like an endless rut, it can be difficult to take the time to feel grateful. Yet, that is when gratitude can be most important. If we can look at our lives, during periods of challenge, and find something to be grateful for, then we can transform our realities in an instant. There are blessings to be found everywhere. When we are focusing on what is negative, our abundance can be easy to miss. Instead, choosing to find what already exists in our lives that we can appreciate can change what we see in our world. We start to notice one blessing, and then another.
When we constantly choose to be grateful, we notice that every breath is a miracle and each smile becomes a gift. We begin to understand that difficulties are also invaluable lessons. The sun is always shining for us when we are grateful, even if it is hidden behind clouds on a rainy day. A simple sandwich becomes a feast, and a trinket is transformed into a treasure. Living in a state of gratitude allows us to spread our abundance because that is the energy that we emanate from our beings. Because the world reflects back to us what we embody, the additional blessings that inevitably flow our way give us even more to be grateful for. The universe wants to shower us with blessings. The more we appreciate life, the more life appreciates and bestows us with more goodness.

    Walk Through It

When a door opens, walk through it. Trust that the door has opened for a reason and you have been guided to it. Sometimes we have a tendency to overanalyse or agonize over the decision, but it is quicker to simply go through the door and discover what’s there as that’s the only way to know.

Even if it doesn’t seem right at first, opening this door may lead to another door that will take us where we need to go. Doors open when the time is right for us to enter a new space, metaphorically speaking, and we can have faith that walking through is the right thing to do. Sometimes we linger in the threshold because we are afraid of leaving our old life for a life we know nothing about. We may have voices inside of our heads that try to hold us back or people in our lives saying discouraging things. These voices, internal and external, are known as threshold spirits, and they express all the fears and doubts that arise at the beginning of a new life. Nevertheless, none of these voices can hold us back, and they will fall silent as soon as we cross the threshold. There are many doors that open in the course of our lives, leading us into new relationships, jobs, friendships, and creative inspirations. Our lives up to this point are the result of all the doors we have walked through, and our continued growth depends on our willingness to keep moving into new spaces.

Every time we walk through an open door, we create a sense memory that encourages us to move into the new fearlessly. When we enter the new space, we almost always feel a thrill and a new feeling of confidence, in ourselves and in the universe. We have stepped across the threshold into a new life. Daily Om
